Get the support you need with an expert hearing test.Â
Hearing loss affects millions of people of all ages in the UK. The good news is that today, with the latest advances in hearing aid technology, most forms of hearing loss can be successfully treated.
If you think you have hearing loss, or know a loved one who does, we can help.
Our free online hearing test is a good place to start, or alternatively get in touch to book a full hearing assessment.Â
Â
We start by asking you about your hearing and general health. This enables us to establish if there are any possible links between your general health, medical history and level of hearing.Â
Next we examine your outer ear, ear canal and ear drum with an instrument called an otoscope. This is painless and allows us to see any abnormalities within the ear.Â
The hearing test allows us to establish the softest sounds you can hear in each ear. We will play sounds through headphones (or a bone conduction transducer if required) and ask you to respond to the sounds you can hear. Â
We will discuss the results of the hearing test together, providing you with an understanding of the type and degree of hearing loss (if a loss is present), how this relates back to the difficulties you are having, and whether any medical referral for further investigation is required. If no referral is required then we will discuss how hearing aids can improve your overall quality of hearing.
In the last stage of the consultation, we will set up a a test system so that you can hear the difference that a hearing aid will make to your overall quality of hearing. We will then discuss the hearing aid options that are most suitable for you.Â

A full hearing consultation typically takes an hour.Â
No, a hearing test is not painful or uncomfortable.
You don’t need to do anything special to prepare for a hearing test. You can eat and drink as you normally would, and there’s no need to stop taking any medications.
The frequency of hearing tests depends on your age, overall health, and any risk factors for hearing loss. In general, it’s recommended that adults have their hearing tested at least once every 10 years until the age of 50, and then every 3 years thereafter.
