I thought I’d change things a little this month and use a patient’s experience as a post. Given it provides a first hand view of both Cotswold hearing and the benefits of wearing hearing aids – I felt this would be worth a read and hopefully you do too. Please see below the review that Tony left about his experience – Should you be in a position of wanting to experience the same, then please contact us on 0800 669 6084 or email info@cotswoldhearing.co.uk
I hope you enjoy and take something away from his experience because hearing aids really are life changing when they work properly, have been fitted well and are adopted positively.
Enjoy!!!!!
MR TAYLOR, ENGINEER from SWINDON
After years of struggling with suspect hearing (marriage related or so i thought!), I was adamant that I wasn’t going to be sold hearing aids from some BIG corporate companies who just want to turn over some sales, and became content with the status quo.
After 51yrs of life I made the leap to get my hearing levels checked.
My work found a very local company to me just to get a basic hearing test to see if it was an actual problem and if so what level of problem I had.
I was greeted by Leigh and was welcomed into a very professional office. It was like chatting to a friend who is so caring and helpful in every stage.
A very comprehensive hearing test was done and results were in “I am deaf!”. I was in shock, The stigma and sadness of “He’s deaf, look at his hearing aids” was ringing in my head.
We went through a vast range of options and types of aids, man these things can be discreet / invisible.
Got them ordered and appointment made for a professional fitting and set up.
The dreaded day of days came around.
LIFE CHANGING RESULTS! – Get yours checked now..
Everything I was missing but did not realise was back, ROAD NOISE (wow that’s loud), BMW indicator click (yes they have them too), feet on carpet, floor board creek, I could go on and on forever, seriously..
LIFE changed just like that.
They can hardly be seen and 99% of people have no idea I wear them, I have to make them aware when at work.
I still felt a little awkward in public case people were talking about being deaf, BUT I could at least hear them lol.
My boss expressed it the best for me, “you wear glasses to AID your sight, your hearing aids AID your hearing and is not something to be self conscious about”
IF YOU think you might have a “deafness”, get a check done.. As i said previously “COMPLETLEY LIFE CHANGING”
I smile everyday,
I feel part of every conversation now and not sitting quietly because I never heard all of what was said.
You can even make/take phone calls and nobody else can hear the conversation. (modern technology is awesome).
I have even got a few work colleagues to get their hearings rechecked as the tech has moved on SO far in the past couple of years, and they too are wearing their aids again. We smile and point at our ears and “thumbs up to each other”
A TEST IS A LITTLE PRICE TO PAY FOR A LIFE CHANGING OUTCOME.
Do it today, OK hearing is not OK (quote from an advert sorry, but SO true).
I just had a year review to make sure all is well.. Great service from my friend “Leigh Treadaway” @cotswoldhearing
